Access Tokens are required by each social media platform to access their API on your behalf. Each entity account uses their own Access Tokens (i.e. a "Token Pool") to make the social network API calls to monitor the Freshness and GRC Criteria for the POPs in Inventory.
There are two types of tokens in this pool: User Tokens (created when your team members enable Social Sign-on to a platform) and POP Tokens (created when you OAuth a specific POP). Only those platforms, where a User Token is available, or those POPs, which have a POP Token, will be Monitored. If both a User Token and a POP Token are available, the POP Token will be used for Monitoring. Discovery and Patrol will require at least one User Token to search each platform.
A benefit of using Access Tokens from your entity's own pool means your API quota limits will not be affected by the activities of other entities or the system. Additionally, on some platforms, a POP access token may reveal deeper and more accurate data (e.g. Country Page Likes vs. Global Page Likes on Facebook).
Enabling tokens does NOT give Brandle access to your account or your credentials. We are merely collecting the permissions that network API's require for us to monitor your account.
User Tokens
User Tokens are created with Social Sign On to the networks. You do this in your User Account — just click on your name and select Social Sign-on/User Tokens.

Please enable all platforms where you have an account. When enabled, the background of the Sign-On button will turn orange.
POP Tokens
POP Tokens require a corporate POP to be OAuthed to Brandle. This must be done by a team member who also has access to the credentials of that account.
To OAuth a POP, go to Inventory and select the Status View. Select the POP you wish to OAuth and go to the OAuth column and select OAuth this POP.

How Many Access Tokens are Needed?
The number of valid Access Tokens needed to support an Entity account depends on the size of the Inventory. Facebook is strict about Access Tokens and their API requires more valid tokens to support the calls needed to monitor Facebook POPs. Brandle helps you keep track of what is valid, what is getting ready to expire with the opening message when you sign into your account. Your Brandle Ambassador will keep you informed of how many User Tokens are needed (especially for Facebook) to keep you entire Inventory up to date and fresh with nightly monitoring.
