When you need to submit multiple POPs, Contacts, or Tag Category/Tags into Brandle, it is often easiest to import them into your Account with a CSV. However, each import type has a different spreadsheet format that is required to have a successful import.
In all cases, an import is additive. So if you want to add more tags to a POP or a Contact, Add more POPs, or Add more Contacts to existing data, and import is a great choice. However, if you need to change tags or data, or delete data, you will need to make those actions directly in your Brandle account.
POP Import
You can import POPs to make fast work for inventorying what you already know about your digital footprint. All that is needed to begin is the URL of the POP. If you need to associate other data to a POP (such as a contact email of the social media manager, the Tags, and a historical note) you can also accomplish this with an import. Just follow the format of the Brandle POP Import Spreadsheet Example. Create one CSV sheet per Inventory Category (such as Active or Employee).
You can ask your Brandle Ambassador to complete your first import to ensure accuracy and success. However, you can also import the spreadsheet yourself by going to:
- Tools/Import POPs
- Select the CSV Radio Button and click on Import POPs button
- Start Import
- Select File and then choose the Inventory Category and click on Import Pops file
- Confirm that your import looks correct and check the boxes of the POPs you'd like to import (or select the top box to import all POPs listed).
Contact Import
The attached Contact Import Example shows you how to format your contact sheet. Send your Contact CSV to your Brandle Ambassador to import. This process allows Brandle to review and ensure a successful import. The key thing to remember on a Contact import is to ensure that you have ONE email for an individual. If you accidentally put two different emails into Contact for the same person, you will not get accurate POP association or reports for that person.
Tag Import
Most of the time, Tags are imported on the initial POP import so you can achieve a lot of work with one import. However, you can also add tags by uploading a CSV into Brandle. The example spreadsheet show s you the simple format of tags in one column and the associated Tag category in another. Import your Tags by going to Tools/ Import Tags & Tag Categories, then select your file and import.
