Managing a corporate inventory of brand presence requires the ability to segment and map the points-of-presence to suit the company's needs. Since every company is different, a generic solution is required. The Brandle Presence Manager supports adding tags to POPs and Contacts.
A tag is just a word or string of words which represent an attribute to be associated with a POP or contact. Tags may be organized into Tag Categories like countries, states, regions, divisions, brands, etc. For example, the tag category "Country" might contain tags with the names of countries where the company operates, e.g.: "US", "Canada", "Mexico", and "New Zealand".
Tags can also help with workflow and governance tasks, such as "To Merge" "Merged" or
"Shut Down". We call these process tags.
Attaching tags to a POP or contact is only useful if one can query the system to retrieve (or exclude) those POPs or contacts with certain tags. To facilitate this, the Brandle Presence Manager supports Searching and Filtering by tags.
Tags are also used when you create your Tag Tree. If you are going to use Tag Trees, it is worth the effort to create a corporate tag strategy and communicate with team members how the tag strategy will be applied to POPs and the Tag Tree.
Finally, Tags are used to filter and generate meaningful Reports. So keeping your Tags up to date and accurate is an important detail to strong governance using Brandle.
