As much as we would like for things to be distinct and precise, there is a lot of noise in the world and on the web. One reason is because the same trade name can be used in distinct markets by different companies. Another is that some brands are also common words and phrases (e.g. Visa, Command, Yellow Cab, etc). Finally, people also aren't always precise – if a social media profile does not contain a lot of detail beyond a name, it may be not be obvious how closely the POP is associated with your brand.
A good way to exclude those negative matches in Discovery is to look for a term that is commonly associated with one of those other brand holders. For example, if you're brand is consumer product but it's also the name commonly used with a school or band, you can search through ALL results for "school", "student", "band", "music", "concert" to quickly find, review and Ignore those common conflicts. A few minutes ignoring these conflicts can quickly leave you with the POPs that are important to you. bulk Action is very helpful here.
