As the Brandle Presence Manager discovers POPs, you have the ability to categorize each according to where it belongs within your inventory (or remove it from your results if it does not).
This process takes place on the Discovery Tab through the use of drop-down menus on a POP Action Menu or in Bulk Action. The Brandle default* categorization choices include:
Claim
- Active: This action will place the POP in your Corporate Active Inventory. Only categorize corporate-owned property as Claimed.
- Parked: This action will place the POP in the Corporate Parked (or Inactive) Inventory. These POPs are typically domains or pages created as placeholders or for defensive purposes.
- Employee: This action places the POP in the Third-party Property Employee Inventory.
- Advocate: This action places the POP in the Third-party Property Advocates Inventory.
- Community: This action places the POP in the Third-party Property Community Inventory.
- Partner: This action places the POP in the Third-party Property Partner Inventory.
- Infringing: Infringing means you are certain that a POP is infringing on your brand or intellectual property. This selection generates an additional window where you mark specific notes about the infringing issues and then send it to a legal contact (optional).
* Your Administrator has the ability to rename these categories.
Re-Categorize
- Interesting: Interesting means you aren’t completely sure about how to categorize it, but it could be a relationship to watch. This helps you find the POP later to complete the triage process.
- Suspicious: Suspicious means you aren’t sure but it could be an infringement or something that needs correcting. This helps you find it later to complete triage.
- Ignore: This action means the POP has absolutely no relationship to your brand and should be removed from displayed results. Brandle will also place it on your Ignore list.
POPs that you categorize as belonging somewhere in your inventory will move to the Inventory Tab
POPs that are left uncategorized stay in the Discovery Table.
POPS categorized as Interesting, Suspicious, or Ignore stay in the Discovery Tab but within their assigned category. You can see these by selecting the category in the View Category Filter options.
POPs that are infringing will be moved to the Third-party Infringing Inventory for tracking while corrective measures are taken.
