If you are using the Brandle Presence Manager, you likely have a large inventory of points-of-presence representing your enterprise across the web. That probably means you have numerous people associated with those POPs. These might be the people who are represented by the POP, who created it, who manage it, or who help oversee it, etc.
Being able to keep track of this diverse group is important as is knowing who is associated with each POP.
Contacts are different from Team Members in that they are not users with access to the Brandle Presence Manager. Each contact is just a record in the system which allows you to identify the people in your social ecosystem, organize them to reflect your corporate structure, associate them with points-of-presence and communicate with them as necessary.
You can assign each POP one or more Contacts. The first person associated with a POP is usually the "Primary Contact." This is most likely the person who has access and control of a specific POP and is party to managing the presence and content. If you have multiple Contacts for a POP, you may want to assign them a Role such as Primary, Secondary, or Brand Owner. Role creation is found under the Contacts tab and Roles. It is not necessary for the Contact to be a team member within the Brandle Presence Manager, but it may be helpful.
